Hello, I’m Neil, a fully qualified and BACP-registered counsellor. I offer one-to-one therapy for adults, working in a way that is supportive, respectful and centred around you.
You might be dealing with stress, low mood, relationship challenges, grief, burnout or simply feeling lost. Whatever you're facing, therapy offers a chance to be heard without pressure or judgment, and to start making sense of things.
I work with people from all walks of life. While some choose a male therapist for specific reasons, many simply find our sessions to be a comfortable, steady place to talk.
I provide a safe and confidential environment where you can discuss the issues that are troubling you and help you to find your own way of dealing with them. Talking can be the first step in helping you to overcome the problems that you face.
Walking therapy, sometimes called "walk-and-talk therapy," takes the counselling session out of the therapy room and into nature. Instead of sitting indoors, we meet in a quiet outdoor space and walk side by side, talking as we go. For many people, this relaxed setting helps them feel more at ease and more able to open up.
I offer walking therapy in Marple, Poynton, New Mills and Stockport.

Person-centred therapy is based on the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Rather than giving advice or telling you what to do, my role is to create a safe, accepting space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly and come to your own understanding and direction.
This approach is grounded in empathy, respect and genuine human connection. It allows you to go at your own pace, without pressure, and to work through whatever’s troubling you in a way that feels right for you.
While I may also draw on tools from CBT or Transactional Analysis when helpful, the core of my work is always about building trust and working together in a way that’s respectful, honest and supportive.
Counselling sessions are £50 for 50 minutes.
This rate applies to all formats, online, telephone or walking therapy.
I offer a free 20-minute phone or video consultation so you can ask questions, get a feel for how I work and decide if therapy with me feels like the right fit. There’s no pressure to commit.
Payment is made by bank transfer before each session. I’ll send you details when we book.
