If you’re looking for online counselling in the UK, I offer one-to-one therapy for adults by secure video call.
You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in confidence, stuck in life, stressed, lonely, or unsure what needs to change. You may be overthinking decisions, struggling with work or relationships, comparing yourself with other people, or simply feeling that something doesn’t feel quite right.
You don’t need to have everything worked out before starting counselling.
Sometimes just knowing that you want things to feel different is enough of a place to begin.
Online counselling works in much the same way as face-to-face counselling, but sessions take place by video call rather than in a therapy room.
You can attend from your own private space, whether that is at home, at work or somewhere else where you feel comfortable and able to talk confidentially.
I offer online therapy to adults across the UK, which means you don’t need to live near Stockport or travel to see me.
Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £50.
People come to counselling for many different reasons.
I work with adults experiencing things such as:
Sometimes there is a clear problem.
Sometimes there isn’t.
You might simply know that you don’t feel like yourself, that you’re going round in circles, or that something needs to change but you don’t know what.
That is still a perfectly valid reason to consider counselling.
For some people, online counselling can feel easier and more accessible than travelling to a therapy room.
There is no commute, no waiting room and no need to find a counsellor who happens to live nearby.
It can also give you access to a wider choice of therapists, allowing you to choose someone because you feel comfortable with their approach rather than simply because they are geographically close.
Some people also feel more relaxed talking from familiar surroundings.
Online therapy may be particularly helpful if you:
My approach is warm, relaxed and down-to-earth.
My work is primarily grounded in Person-Centred Therapy, which means you remain at the centre of the counselling process.
I’m not there to tell you what decision you should make or what your life should look like.
I’ll listen, ask questions, reflect things back and help you explore what is happening for you.
I can also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA) where these approaches may be useful.
Counselling can involve serious or difficult conversations, but it doesn’t always have to feel heavy or clinical. There can be room for humour, ordinary conversation and simply being yourself.
That’s fine.
You don’t need to prepare a list of problems before your first session.
You might start by saying:
“I feel stuck.”
“I keep overthinking everything.”
“I don’t know what I want.”
“I’m putting too much pressure on myself.”
“I don’t really know what’s wrong.”
We can start there.
Part of counselling can simply be having enough space to get your thoughts out, slow things down and begin making sense of what you actually feel.
A lot of the people I work with aren’t necessarily in crisis.
They may simply feel that their life isn’t quite where they want it to be.
You might be questioning your job, relationship, confidence, direction or expectations of yourself.
You may spend a lot of time thinking about what you should be doing, comparing yourself with other people, or worrying that you’re falling behind.
Online counselling can give you somewhere to explore those thoughts without judgement and without somebody else deciding what the answer should be.
Yes.
Online sessions are confidential in the same way as other counselling sessions, subject to the usual professional and safeguarding limits to confidentiality.
I’ll explain this clearly when we begin working together.
For your own privacy, I recommend attending from somewhere where you feel comfortable speaking freely and are unlikely to be interrupted.
Sessions take place by video call and last 50 minutes.
You’ll need:
You don’t need any specialist equipment.
Online counselling sessions are £50 for 50 minutes.
You are not committing to a fixed number of sessions.
Some people choose short-term counselling around a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term support.
We can regularly review how things are going and what feels useful for you.
Some people specifically look for a male counsellor because they feel they may be more comfortable talking to a man.
Others simply want a counsellor whose approach feels right for them.
I work with adults of all genders and offer online counselling across the UK, so you can work with me regardless of where you live.
If you’re looking for online counselling in the UK and would like somewhere to talk openly, make sense of what’s going on and work out what you need, feel free to get in touch.
You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong before contacting me.
Sometimes just knowing that you’d like things to feel different is enough.
